The Diplomat's Toolkit is an entry-level course in diplomatic communication. By the time you finish, you'll have a set of practical tools for communicating more effectively and diplomatically across a wide range of professional situations.

Before You Begin

• Download the workbook. It's your companion throughout the entire course. Every module has exercises and reflection prompts, and you'll want it open as you go. If you haven't downloaded it yet, do that first in the Course Introduction section of this introduction.

• Set your pace. This is an on-demand course, which means you control the pace. You can pause, rewind, and take as much time as you need on any section. Use that flexibility, especially during the practice exercises.

This introduction has a few more short videos before the modules begin. I’ll tell you more about the course, how it came to be, and why these skills matter, particularly in the professional contexts where communication tends to be hardest. After that, the four core modules get started.
