Module Objective

By the end of this module, you'll be able to use active listening to increase trust and clarity in your communication, particularly in one-on-one conversations, though everything you'll learn applies just as well in group settings.

The Big Idea

Most of us think we're listening when we're really just waiting for our turn to talk, and that’s called listening to reply. This module is going to focus on learning how to listen to understand, instead of listening to reply.

That distinction sounds simple, but it changes everything about how a conversation goes.

You can build trust when the other person feels heard and then most interactions tend to go better than they would have otherwise.

What’s Coming in This Module

The LISTEN Checklist: A step-by-step framework you can use in real conversations to make sure you're listening to understand.

Common Listening Traps: The sneaky habits most people fall into when they think they're listening well.

Practice Scenarios: You'll get the chance to apply what you've learned before moving on. These are exercises to help what we’re learning actually stick.

Module Check-In and Debrief: At the end, you'll have space to reflect on what resonated with you and how you plan to use it.

As You Watch

Keep your workbook nearby. Each video builds on the last, and the exercises are designed to be done in sequence. If something resonates you can write it down.
